4. Would Kentucky Kernel Wood Pellets be interested in the dry sawdust we produce?

E-mail the type of dry sawdust or chips and the volume you produce to us at mailto:info@hardwoodpellet.com. We currently can not accept wet wood.

5. How much do pellets cost?

Pellets are a significantly less expensive source of heat than most other fuels. Check your local retailer for pricing.

6. Where does the wood to make the pellets come from?

No trees are cut to make our pellets. We use waste and residual wood from our own wood working operations at Anderson Wood Products as well as from other wood working companies in our area.

7. Do you use glue or additives to make the pellets?

Water and a small amount of vegetable oil is all that is added to our pellets.

8. What makes them shiny?

Heat from the pellet mill increases the density of the outer surface of the pellet and makes it shiny.

9. Can I store my pellets outside?

We recommend our pellets be stored in a dry area free of high humidity. Even though our pellets are in plastic bags, are covered, and shrink wrapped, moisture can still get into the bag over time. We do not recommend storing pellets for more than 6 months. Also, sunlight will eventually break down the plastic wrap, cover, and bag.

10. Do I need a chimney to hook up a pellet stove?

No, however, you do need a vent typically 3-4" in diameter which can go directly through a wall and terminate. Contact a stove dealer near you.

11. Where can I buy a pellet stove?

Most of our retailers carry stoves, you can check our retailer nearest you by entering your zip code in the 'Find a Dealer' utility to the right or look up pellet stove shops on the internet.

12. Can I burn hardwood fuel pellets in my stove or fireplace?
